Cave of the winds offers 4 different cave tours. The Discovery Tour is a 45 minute guided walking tour, the one enjoyed by generations of visitors. An easy, relaxing walk, the Discovery Tour is offered year round. Whatever the temperature outside, it’s always a comfortable 54 degrees inside Cave of the Winds.The Wind Walker Course is now OPEN! Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoological Society was founded in 1926 by philanthropist Spencer Penrose to house his growing collection of exotic animals. In 1938, after substantial development, Mr. Penrose incorporated the Zoo as a non-profit public trust for the people of Colorado Springs “for the sole purpose of establishing and maintaining a zoological park to provide recreation, education, conservation, and scientific facilities in the field of zoology and related subjects, and to preserve the Zoo in perpetuity for the people of the Pikes Peak region.”

Iron Springs Chateau Melodrama
For more than 39 years, the Iron Springs Melodrama Dinner Theater has provided the Pikes Peak Region of Colorado with an evening of hilarious comedy and quality entertainment. The evening begins with a family-style dinner with the melodrama immediately following (audience participation is strongly encouraged). After the melodrama, a foot-stomping sing-along and vaudeville olio full of song, dance and comedy continues the fun throughout the evening.

Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine Tour

Pioneer Museum
The Mission of the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum is to collect, preserve, research and interpret the history and culture of the Pikes Peak Region. The Museum is housed in the beautifully restored 1903 El Paso County Courthouse. This Pioneer Museum is a winner of the Award of Merit from the American Association for State and Local History.
Pikes Peak Cog Railway
Since 1891, the Pike’s Peak Cog Railway (the world’s highest cog railroad and the highest railroad in the United States) has taken passengers to the 14,115 foot summit of Pikes Peak. Just 4 miles from the inn, the Cog Railway is now open year round and departs seven days a week. Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site
An educational, non-profit living history farm and museum depicting life in the Pikes Peak region over four time periods. Located next to Garden of the GodsPark.
Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center
The RMDRC is a new 18,000 square foot museum in the heart of Colorado. There are two exhibit halls, one focusing on dinosaurs of the Late Cretaceous and the other focusing on marine reptiles and fossil fish. A fully operational preparation laboratory is on site with viewing windows enabling guests to see all aspects of fossil prep. The museum also has a children’s area, theatre, and Prehistoric Paradise, a large gift shop. Special talks and guest lectures, museum tours, children’s events and educational programs occur throughout the year. The center is located on state Highway 24 in Woodland Park, CO just 9 miles west of Cascade, Colorado and the inn.
Royal Gorge Travel
Come experience Colorado’s own world wonder, the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park . At 1,053 feet high, the panoramic vistas of the gorge are as awesome as the Grand Canyon. Spanning a quarter mile across is the world’s highest suspension bridge, an engineering feat as inspiring as the Eiffel Tower. Other man-made marvels include the world’s longest single-span Aerial Tram and the world’s steepest Incline Railway. Also, experience the gorge in a truly magnificent way, via the historic Royal Gorge Train Route . Covering 24 miles and traveling directly through the gorge, the 2 hour journey is “the most scenic train ride in North America.”
Seven Falls
It has been called the “Grandest Mile of Scenery in Colorado”. Located in South Cheyenne Cañon, Seven Falls cascades 181 feet in seven distinct steps down a solid cliff of pikes peak granite. Crystal clear water from the southern most edges of the Pikes Peak watershed have, over the ages, carved this unique scenic masterpiece in an easily accessed location.
Van Briggle Art Pottery
Established in 1899 by acclaimed sculptor Artus Van Briggle, visit one of the oldest active art potteries in America.
Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun
Take the scenic drive up Cheyenne Mountain, only 1.4 miles from the Zoo entrance, to this historic monument. Built by Spencer Penrose between 1934 and 1937, it stands dedicated to Will Rogers who died in a plane crash in 1935. The elevation of the Shrine is 8,136 feet on the top deck, and provides a spectacular view of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and the Pikes Peak Region.
